Planning for Effective Sport Event Security Management
Description:
PLANNING is the critical first step for developing an effective security management system for sport events. Many times planning is slighted because we had all rather “play the game” as contrasted with the planning needed “to up our chances” of preparing for every possible challenge we may face! Planning, as a system, must be methodical, well thought out, specify strategies and action plans with designated persons responsible and time lines for completion of desired results.
In development of security management processes for sports event security, it is paramount to have in place the following:
• A security action team (SAT) representing all involved event areas.
• Plans for- event operations ( including protective measures), emergency response, evacuation, and recovery/business continuity ( including mutual aide agreements).
This workshop move from “Why Plan?” and definitions to involving participants in structured activities to build understandings and actual development of critical plans.
